McDonald's 25th Anniversary Promos

Released to celebrate McDonald’s 25th Anniversary in 1998, the McDonald’s 25th Anniversary Promos were a unique set of Pokémon cards created exclusively for the fast food chain. There were seven cards in the set, each one featuring an iconic Pokémon, a five-digit serial number, and the McDonald’s 25th Anniversary logo. The cards themselves were printed on a glossy paper stock and had rounded corners, distinguishing them from other Pokémon cards of the time.

The seven Pokémon featured in the set were Pikachu, Charizard, Gyarados, Poliwrath, Blastoise, Alakazam, and Mewtwo. These seven were chosen to represent McDonald’s as the official Pokémon sponsors and were selected for their established fan base. Each card was numbered from McDonald’s001 to McDonald’s007, indicating its place in the series.

The McDonald’s 25th Anniversary Promos Pokémon cards were not sold in stores and could only be obtained from participating McDonald’s branches. During a promotional period, customers at McDonald’s locations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada were able to get one of the seven cards with a qualifying purchase.
