EX Trainer Kit 1: Latias & Latios

The EX Trainer Kit 1: Latias & Latios is a two player set introduced in 2003 by The Pokemon Company, a subdivision of Nintendo. It was the first of the EX Trainer Kits, and features two of the legendary Pokemon, Latias and Latios. Its purpose was to re-introduce the Pokemon Trading Card Game to new and veteran players alike.

The set includes two foil promo cards (Latias and Latios), a Rules & Checklist booklet, two Pokemon Tip cards, two collectors boxes, and two sets of 35 cards. The 35-card deck includes 12 EX cards and 23 common cards, all featuring Latias and Latios either as basic or stage 1 Pokemon. It also includes 1 energy card and the necessary instructions to build one out of the two available game decks.

The EX cards feature powerful attacks with a multi-coloured background, emphasizing their status as "extra" powerful cards. They also have extended artwork of the Pokemon featured, which is more detailed and detailed than the standard cards.
