
The Pokemon Diamond and Pearl set was a main series expansion released by The Pokemon Company in 2006. It was the 25th expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card Game and contained 106 cards. The set centered around the Diamond and Pearl versions of the popular Pokemon video game and featured many of the beloved creatures from the games. There were 54 Pok?mon cards, 18 Trainer cards and 34 Energy cards. This set contained highly sought-after cards such as the mythic foil Charizard and the rare Shining Celebi. It also had four theme decks with cards designed to help players get started in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The prerelease promo cards featured Shinx and a special Charizard card with a gold foil. The set featured artwork from multiple artists, including Kagemaru Himeno, Koji Ishikawa, Kouki Saitou, Naoyo Kimura and Ryo Ueda. Diamond and Pearl was followed by the Platinum set in 2007.
